“Evergreen: The Road to Legalization” Documentary Opening in NYC, Denver, Seattle

NEW YORK CITY – Marijuana documentary “Evergreen: The Road to Legalization” is set to open theatrically at Cinema Village (22 East 12th Street) beginning this Friday, June 13. The film is slated for daily screenings at 3:15 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. from June 13 – 19.

Ethan Nadelmann, Executive Director of the Drug Policy Alliance, and the filmmakers will be in attendance for a Q&A following the 7:00 P.M. screening on Friday, June 13. Tickets are available for pre-order on the Cinema Village website.

“Evergreen: The Road to Legalization” is a behind-the-scenes examination of Washington State Initiative 502, which legalized recreational marijuana for the first time in America at the state level. The 86-minute film shines a light on the heated battle that led to I-502’s passage, including its rippling impact on the future of U.S. drug policy.

First Run Features is distributing “Evergreen: The Road to Legalization” with theatrical openings in New York City (June 13), Denver (June 20) and Seattle (June 27). Play dates and venue information are available on the First Run Features website.
