I have a very simple philosophy when it comes to beauty. You have to give beauty a KISS, meaning Keep It Sweet and Simple. My personal simple philosophy is beauty=health. My five beauty essentials are (mostly) all about staying healthy!
My first beauty essential is water. Lots and lots of water! Drinking water keeps your whole body healthy, and it gives you vibrant skin, gorgeous hair and gives your body the stuff it needs to stay healthy and simply beautiful. To top it off, water helps you stay healthy if you are a swimmer as well because swimming is a great exercise to keep our whole body in shape. So water, overall, is a great beauty secret that is cheap and plentiful!
A second beauty must for me is a healthy smile, so tooth care is essential. I love to see people smile and I love to smile myself so I have to take care of those pearly whites! I live in a state where we rank at the bottom of the nation for access to oral care, and so oral hygiene is a must for me. Brushing and flossing twice a day is a vital essential to having beauty and health in your life, as well as replacing your toothbrush often and seeing a dentist. An added benefit to smiling:the act of smiling may be able to cause happy feelings.
I love cocoa butter! It keeps my skin so healthy and smooth. I have had three children and no stretch marks! I slathered Palmer’s cocoa butter all over my big, bulbous belly when I was pregnant and I just began to love the way it smelled and the way it made my skin feel and so I have been using it ever since. It seems to keep my skin healthy and moisturized too.
One problem that I have always had living in the Midwest is chapped lips because the weather changes so damn much. It can snow in the morning and be 70 degrees by noon where I live, it’s really ridiculous. So, a beauty essential in my neck of the woods is keeping your lips healthy and moisturized. I use the Burt’s Bees line of lip care products. This line of products has always kept my lips healthy and soft.
My fifth beauty essential is simply, tweezers. It’s not health related, I know, but I have got to keep my eyebrows well groomed. I always have a good set of tweezers to keep them neat and well maintained. This enhances the beauty of a person’s eyes more than any eye shadow, so a good set of tweezers is a must!
