About Alexis Wilson Briggs
Alexis Wilson Briggs is a criminal defense attorney, civil rights advocate, and expectant first-time mother. She lives in Oakland, California with her husband and giant cat Wesley. She has served as pro-bono counsel for numerous Occupy protestors, including the Davis Dozen and Santa Cruz Eleven, as well as one of the #PayPal14. She co-created and taught "Gender Issues and the Cannabis Movement" with NORML Board Member Kyndra Miller, which aims to educate the cannabis movement on lessons learned from the feminist movement as well as empower women to further their efforts for gender equality within the cannabis subculture. She has a B.A. in Philosophy from University of California, Berkeley as well as a J.D. from Temple University.
