Denver, Colorado will be hosting a three-day conference, beginning tomorrow, focusing on Marijuana for Medical Professionals. The conference will take place at the Sherman St. Event Center at 1770 Sherman Street in Denver, and will run from September 10th-September 12th, 2014.
There are many reasons for medical professionals with an interest in cannabis to attend this conference, not the least of which is the fact that it counts toward continuing education requirements for licensing.
This conference has been approved to be counted as 17.5 hours of continuing education coursework for medical professionals, depending on their level of involvement. That shouldn’t be surprising to anyone who has reviewed the names of faculty and speakers at the conference. The list reads like a “who’s who” of scientific cannabis research. Highlights include Lester Grinspoon, MD and Suzanne Sisley, MD. The conference promises very in depth discussion and education about some cutting-edge medical cannabis areas.
Each day of the conference will focus on a specific aspect of cannabis and health care. The first day will focus on the basics of the endocannabinoid system in the morning and then on implementing cannabis treatment plans in the afternoon. The morning of the second day will focus on the use of cannabis for oncology and neuromuscular conditions, followed by a focus on pediatric epilespy and the Colorado Department of Health in the afternoon. The third and final morning will focus on cannabis and mental health, with the afternoon shifting focus to CBD for use in a medical setting and cannabis for back pain and geriatrics.
Full passes for all three days are $695, and single day passes are $285. Interested parties can register via the website for the Marijuana for Medical Professionals conference website or RSVP via Facebook.
