Ladybud Magazine would like to wish its readership a safe and enjoyable Labor Day, this Monday, September 1, 2014.
Labor Day has been celebrated widely across the United States since the 1880s, when it was officially created as a holiday. The history of Labor Day is fascinating and definitely worth reading up about. Suffice it to say that those who organized the holiday would likely not be amused by the number of minimum wage workers at work today.
Labor Day is meant to be a celebration of laborers, their contributions to society, and the quality of life improvements such as the eight-hour workday that people fought and in some cases died for. If you are fortunate enough to have the day off work, take a moment at some point today to contemplate the wonders of paid vacation time. If you use them in your celebration, remember to keep your fireworks under control and advise your neighbors in consideration of others who have PTSD.
If you are working today, here’s hoping your shift goes quickly, and that there’s some quality cannabis waiting for you after your shift.
Happy Labor Day, everyone!
